Day 1: Xi'an Arrival
Xi’an to Lhasa & Kathmandu Tour is about cycling in the city wall of Xi'an, visiting Tibet's holy lakes, climbing Gyantse Kumbum, etc. You reach Xi'an airport, our team of World Tour Management will be waiting for you to welcome and guide you to the hotel. Once you check in at the hotel, the rest of the time for today is free. Or you can even explore the surroundings in Xi'an on your own. Your first day's overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 2: Visit Terra-Cotta Warriors and Big Wild Goose Pagoda
Today, your day will be all about visiting the Terracotta Warriors, also known as the world's eight wonders. These Terracotta Warriors were buried alongside the Emperor in a vast underground palace. Then you will be taken to Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Then you will stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Xi'an Tour: Ancient City all, Muslim Quarter and Shanxi History Museum
In the morning, you will begin the journey to the Shanxi History Museum, where a large number of precious historical relics are displayed. So, it is an excellent place to learn about China's spectacular culture and history. You will have experienced cycling on top of the Ancient City Wall. So far, it is the largest ancient city wall in China. Later, you will head to Muslim Quarter in Xi'an. It is the best place to eat special snacks and buy exquisite souvenirs. Then, you will stay overnight in Xi'an.
Day 4: Transfer to Lhasa from Lhasa
Today, you will head towards Lhasa from Xi'an by flight. After you arrive in Lhasa, our team of World Tour Management will pick you up and take you on the staycation. Then you can take a good rest to experience the high altitude. You will stay overnight at a hotel in Lhasa.
Day 5: Lhasa Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will be taken to the Potala Palace, which Tibetans proudly claim to be the prime miracle since the creation of the world. It is visible from any distance, with the golden roof shining in the sun; spend one hour wandering around the magnificent building exploring the rooms.
In the afternoon, we will head to the Jokhang Temple. Like most of the larger temple structures, the Jokhang has various individual temples dedicated to specific enlightened beings, protectors, or saints. Here you will see images both painted and sculpted everywhere. Every inch of the wall and ceiling is beautifully painted with images of clouds or mandalas.
You will also explore the central image inside the building, which is an image of Maitreya Buddha. Then, take a short walk on Barkhor Street in Old Lhasa. Lhasa streets smell of yak butter. If anyone walks at an average pace, one Kora will take about 20 minutes. Then stay overnight in Lhasa.
Day 6: Visit Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery
In the early morning, you will be taken to visit Drepung Monastery, the ever-largest monastery with over 10 thousand monks; Buddhist debates regularly occur there. It is visible from a far distance; beautiful construction gives the monastery the appearance of a heap of rice. And it was named after the Tibetan language, which means monastery of collecting rice.
You will visit Sera Monastery at noon, have a little walk in the beautiful valley scenery nearby, and picnic there. You might also get the opportunity to visit the popular Monks Debate before returning to Lhasa for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: Transfer to Shigatse from Lhasa
You will be taken to Shigatse from Lhasa by road in the morning. On the way to Shigatse, you will pass through Gampala and have a short stop at Yamdrok-Tso. Many snow-capped mountains cover the lake, and in the distance, clients can have splendid views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, which is the highest mountain near Lhasa. It was originally Tibet's third-largest city, Gyantse. In Gyantse, you will have to visit Pelkor Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum. After a long drive, you will finally arrive in Shigatse. In Shigatse, our team of World Tour Management will take you to explore the Tashilhunpo monastery. Then you will stay overnight in the Shigatse hotel.
Day 8: Shigatse Tour
Then, early in the morning, you will head for your next destination in Lhatse, a small town where you will have your lunch. Then, again make the journey to Shegar; then, on the way down to Shegar, you will also see Mount Everest. After a drive, you will make your presence at Rongbuk monastery, but on the way, you will also pass through the highest passes in Tibet. From that pass, you will view the five highest peaks globally. Then, we will stay in the Ronguk tent guest house or a local Tibetan tent overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Gyirong from EBC
Today after waking up, you will experience the first sunlight over the pyramid-shaped summit of imposing Mount Everest. So, don't forget to take an epic shot and stroll to Rongbuk Monastery, which is the world's highest Buddhist compound. You can also meditate and experience unparalleled tranquillity and peace. Or you can also have conversations with monks and nuns with the help of our guide to learn or know more about their unique spiritual lifestyles.
Then, you will start your journey to Gyirong, where you will be taken from China. On the route, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Himala and Gangdise mountains. Then, you will stay overnight in Gyirong.
Day 10: End of Xi’an to Lhasa & Kathmandu Tour
Our guide will take you to the Gyirong border and drop you off at the border bridge in the morning. You are kindly required to walk on your own to cross the border bridge ten; you can have your Nepal visa upon arrival at about US$30, so please have your passport-size photo to get a visa. Then, you need to find or get yourself a car or bus to head for Kathmandu from the border bridge, and you will find several buses or vehicles in the parking to pick up travellers and visitors.
